Witness, in 7th February 1429, as Johanne MacAusillane, domino de Callenach, to the resignation of Gleane MacKerne etc by John MacRoger in favour of John of Culquhoune of Luss. (Fraser: Chiefs of Colquhoun). This Johanne MacAusillane, domino de Callenach is assumed to be the same as Johne MacAuslane of the Caldenocht who witnessed a charter in 1395, but he could be a son or some other relative.

John(e)’s successor had at one time been assumed to be an Alexander McAusland, but this proved not to be the case and the McAusland Barons of Caldenoch are absent in the historical records from 1429 until 1535.
